"Go fuck yourself, smear merchant?"

Can you spot the difference, Twitter in 2016 and X in 2023?

The founder of Twitter Jack was a people's pleaser. Growing the company into in overhead with several thousand employees who could get fired without the site having any performance issues. Only difference was that they delated child Porn. Elon Musk brought Twitter in a risky move, putting his own solvency on the line. Jack did bow down before the current Zeitgeist. Elon is signaling to be counter-elite, over not being intimidated by journalists who try to blackmail him. The playbook goes like this:

It's a nice social media platform you have there,

it would be a shame if somebody would call you antisemitic.

What would happen to you if somebody did that?

Right, you would lose a lot of money.

Just do me a favor, I want several changes of who can say and what and some donations for the one or other NGO.

If you do that you will be fine.

If you don't, well, let's see what happens.

Would you be intimidated? Be honest here and let me know in the comments.

Ps: I do understand this whole drama shitshow is needed for entertainment reasons, while I think going to Mars is way more interesting to be honest. Becoming a multiplanetary species is really important, and I am glad one men has absolute certainty in this regard.

  • The contrast between Twitter's trajectory under Jack Dorsey in 2016 and the Platform X under Elon Musk in 2023 is stark. Dorsey's leadership, characterized as a "people's pleaser", saw the company grow with a substantial workforce and responsiveness to prevailing societal trends, albeit with concerns about overhead. In contrast, Musk's bold acquisition of Twitter signals a departure from conventional elite conformity, presenting a potential resistance to external pressures. The scenario painted of a counter-elite figure not succumbing to journalist intimidation, illustrated through a hypothetical blackmail scenario, adds a layer of intrigue.
