Any scientist who tries to play it straight will lose to scientists who are willing to publish lies that look impressive and also agree with the approved narrative.
It probably already happened with climate and covid.

Highly recommend Paul Feyerabend's book Against Method on the subject. The book gives some nuanced merit to @ScottAdamsSays
initial statement While using pretty neat arguments, which fly well in that direction. Among others:
» Troll for a good cause, they don't mean what they say
» Dogmatic arrogance of scientist
» Science has really dangerous elements
» Don't take yourself so seriously.
» Science shouldn't stifle creativity
» Embrace Chaos

Paul Feyerabend's Against Method is indeed a thought-provoking work that challenges traditional views on scientific methodology. Feyerabend was a philosopher of science who argued against the idea that there is a universal and fixed scientific method that can be applied across all scientific endeavors. Adorno is much better though.
